Maya Bhogal

About me

I’m a counselor with a background in supporting vulnerable youth and empowering women. My journey from youth counseling to bodybuilding taught me the importance of mental and physical well-being. I hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology and use various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy. I’m passionate about addressing issues like anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem. My goal is to boost personal development and self-care, especially for South Asian women. More about me

I began my career working with vulnerable youth and families in a support role and then transitioned into youth Counselling for a couple of years before recognizing that my passion truly lies in empowering women.
I competed in bodybuilding and this was a huge turning point in my life in realizing that fitness was a huge part of my own mental well-being in addition to my physical health. This motivated me to continue my career journey into the Counselling field. I have been using a holistic approach to empower women to take their mental well-being into their own hands and work on strenghtening their voices, and making their needs a priority. Being a South Asian female, I understand the workings of the culture in addition to some of the obstacles that we face within the culture that may prevent us from taking the first few steps of taking care of ourselves so we can care for our families.
I hold a Masters of Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle and practice with a CBT modality, in addition to OEI. I also aim to bring other approaches into my work such as: Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and some Inner-Child work. 
I work with presenting issues such as: anxiety, depression, family dynamics, life transitions, goal-setting, self-esteem and stress management. Overall, I want to help increase your personal development and ensure that you are feeling confident in taking care of yourself.
